Subject: How we cut CAC in half by killing our best channel — for Chit Chat with Harry
Hi Harry,
I'm [Name], founder of [Company], an IT services firm working with clients across the US.
Eight months ago we killed our best-performing paid channel because it was buying us the wrong clients — not bad ones, just wrong-fit. CAC dropped 50% and close rate on inbound doubled within a quarter. Most people would have called that channel a success right up until we looked at retention.
I noticed a recent episode covered a similar "the metric that looked good was lying to us" theme — thought this might fit.
Two sentences on me: seven years running [Company], previously led sales at [prior company]. I wrote about a related decision here: [link].
Happy to send more background if useful. Thanks for considering it.

Three mistakes that get a pitch ignored
- Leading with a bio instead of a story — hosts skim the first line; make it the hook, not your title.
- Pitching a topic instead of a claim — "I can talk about scaling" isn't pitchable; "we scaled by doing the opposite of the standard advice" is.
- Mass-sending the same email to twenty shows — it shows in the lack of any specific reference to that host's actual work, and most hosts notice immediately.
